Growing up Luke spent a lot of time outdoors, his family spending most holidays on their houseboat at Lake Eildon where he would learn all kinds of water sports. Luke also spent the first two years of his life travelling around Australia living in a Toyota Hilux with his parents, which could explain Luke's passion for the great outdoors. Luke's uncle, by marriage, was Rod Ansell, the bushman who inspired the film Crocodile Dundee.
